A man lies on the floor holding his shoulder in pain, indicating he has fallen. To the left, an Amazon Alexa device is visibly alerting, with light or sound signals activated. Overlaid text reads: “Where It’s AT – The Ability Tools Blog, “Subscribing & Setting Up Amazon Alexa Emergency Assist,” and “AbilityTools.org.”

Overview of Alexa Emergency Assist

Alexa Emergency Assist is a monthly subscription service that allows you to call for help using just your voice, no phone dialing or button pressing required.

  • Simply say: “Alexa, call for help”
  • You’ll be connected to a 24/7 Urgent Response agent
  • They can contact police, fire, or medical services on your behalf

Important:
Make sure your emergency profile in the Alexa app is up-to-date. This may include:

  • Medications
  • Emergency contacts
  • Gate codes or access instructions

While not a full professional monitoring system, Alexa Emergency Assist provides added peace of mind, especially for individuals who may have difficulty reaching a phone during an emergency.

Unfortunately, Amazon Emergency Assist can’t be signed up for through the Alexa App, so we’re going to sign up for it through the website first.
