Meta Smart Glasses are emerging as one of the most wearable tools for people who are blind or have low vision. Unlike traditional assistive technology that relies heavily on screens, magnification, or complex keyboard commands, these glasses shift access toward hands‑free, audio‑first, real‑time information. For many users, this creates a more natural and intuitive way to navigate daily life.

Some Advantages from Meta glasses:
•  Affordability
•  Hands free independence
•  Be My Eyes integration
•  Navigation and daily‑task support
•  Accessible Content Creation

Alfredo, a member of the Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC), has integrated his Meta smart glasses into his everyday life. For him, the glasses have become a constant companion throughout the day, whether he is at home, traveling, or out in the community.

He uses the glasses for a wide range of daily activities. During cooking, they help him identify items and follow steps safely. When navigating public transportation, he relies on the glasses for real time navigation feedback, making it easier to travel independently and confidently.

One of Alfredo’s greatest passions is health and wellness. Meta glasses support this by enabling hands free content creation. He records his videos entirely on his own, without needing anyone to assist with camera setup or framing. This independence is something he deeply values. The glasses give him the freedom to create, express himself, and share his wellness journey without relying on others.
