Research which models meet your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Plug the Smart Plug into a working outlet<\/strong> near your Echo device.<\/li><li>The <strong>LED light on the plug will begin blinking rapidly<\/strong>, indicating it is in pairing mode.<\/li><li>If the LED stops blinking before pairing is complete, <strong>press and hold the button on the plug for at least 10 seconds<\/strong> until the LED starts blinking again. This can take up to a minute.<\/li><li>When found, tap \u201c<strong>Next<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li><li>Select the area you\u2019ll use the plug in, such as the living room or kitchen.<\/li><li>Tap \u201c<strong>Add to Group<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li><li>Tap \u201c<strong>Continue<\/strong>\u201d, then \u201c<strong>Done<\/strong>\u201d. You will rename it in the next step.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Name and Test the Plug:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your sensor is paired, you can rename it and test its functionality using the Alexa app:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the Alexa app, tap on \u201c<strong>Devices<\/strong>\u201d (lightbulb icon in the bottom left).<\/li><li>Tap the name Alexa gave to your new plug.<\/li><li>Tap the &#8220;<strong>Settings<\/strong>&#8221; icon (gear in the top right corner).<\/li><li>Tap \u201c<strong>Edit Name<\/strong>\u201d and change it to something easy to remember (e.g., \u201cLiving room plug\u201d).<\/li><li>Test with voice commands: \u201c<strong>Alexa, turn on [name]<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Alexa, turn off [name]<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a Routine:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Example Use: Turning the living room light on every morning at 7 AM.<br>&#8211; Plug your light into the ThirdReality Smart Plug.<br>&#8211; Leave the light switch in the \u201cOn\u201d position.<br>&#8211; Create a routine in the Alexa app to turn it on at 7:00 AM every day.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the Alexa app, tap on \u201c<strong>Devices<\/strong>\u201d (lightbulb icon in the bottom left).<\/li><li>Tap the name you gave your new smart plug.<\/li><li>Tap &#8220;<strong>Create Routine<\/strong>&#8221; at the bottom of the page.<\/li><li>Tap the \u201c<strong>+<\/strong>\u201d icon in the top right corner to create a new routine.<\/li><li>Under <strong>&#8220;When&#8221;<\/strong>, tap the <strong>\u201c+\u201d<\/strong> next to <strong>&#8220;Add an Event.&#8221;<\/strong><\/li><li>Select <strong>\u201cSchedule.\u201d<\/strong><\/li><li>Tap &#8220;<strong>At Time<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li><li>To the right of <strong>\u201cRepeat,\u201d<\/strong> tap <strong>\u201cEvery Day.\u201d<\/strong><\/li><li>Customize the days of the week by <strong>unchecking and checking days<\/strong> so the routine is customized to your needs.<\/li><li>Tap &#8220;<strong>Save<\/strong>&#8220;<\/li><li>To the right of <strong>\u201cAt Time,\u201d<\/strong> select the time you want the light to turn on.
