I. 10:00 – 10:15AM - Welcome / Introductions / Updates from Ability Tools

II. 10:15 – 11:30PM – Presentation by Alexander Jensen of Be My Eyes- Be My Eyes is an app that connects blind and visually impaired with sighted helpers from around the world via live video connection.

III. 11:30 – 1:00PM – Lunch (on your own)

IV. 1:00pm- 2:00pm- Presentation by Michael Parker of Access Ingenuity: Access Ingenuity is the Premier distributor for Freedom Scientifics’ line of assistive technology for individual who are blind or visually impaired. Access Ingenuity also provides services related to creating accessible PDFs as well as testing websites for accessibility. 

V.  2:00pm- 3:00pm- AT Problem Solving Session: This time is an opportunity for individuals to voice their AT questions or concerns and start a conversation with others involved in the AT community.

Please note: Outside food and drinks are not allowed.  Free parking is located at Alameda and Bauchet Street.  Continue to TCE parking lot and inform the parking booth attendant that you are there for the Ability Tools In-Person Meeting.

Joe McDaniel from VFO, the world’s largest Assisted Technology company will demonstrate how Freedom Scientific’s JAWs and Braille displays, Ai Squared’s Zoomtext  and Optelec’s low vision devices change people’s lives by giving them independence.

Join us to learn how Freedom Scientific merged with Ai Squared, Optelec, and The Paciello Group. There will be a live demonstration on their latest blind and low vision solution technologies such as Clearview C CCTV and our RUBY XL HD Magnifier, JAWS software, OpenBook scanning software with the Pearl camera and refreshable Braille displays, and the NEW “El Braille”.  El Braille is a mini computer that pairs with their Braille displays!

IV. 12:45 - 1:45PM – Demo Presentation by Michelle Ranae Wild, Brain Education Strategies and Technology (BEST)

Brain Education, Strategies, and Technology's mission is to develop, research and disseminate the best practices for teaching strategies and technologies for the benefit of people with conditions that affect the brain. 

V. 2:00 - 3:00PM – Bridging the Gap Between No-Tech/Low-Tech and High-Tech AAC Presentation by Gary Tilbe, LoganTech

Sometimes there’s no straight line from low-tech AAC to high-tech, dynamic communication devices. Learn about a system that can reignite progress for students who’ve stalled.
