We had such an exciting and successful Ability Tools Reuse Conference!
Thanks to everyone that made it out to Sacramento last week!
At this national conference, we were fortunate to have folks from all over the United States join us to learn, share, collaborate, and strengthen the Reuse movement in California. Many participants were from different Independent Living Centers in California and other non-profits dedicated to cleaning and reusing durable medical equipment and other AT to get it the hands of the Californians that really need it to be independent and active members of their communities.
We also had participants from various states including: Texas, Georgia, Washington, Oregon, Mississippi, Alaska, Oklahoma, Nevada, Kansas, and Massachusetts!
Presenters addressed a variety of issues, including marketing and development ideas, disaster planning and preparedness issues, medicaid-funded reuse, cleaning and refurbishing equipment including battery maintenance, and general information about how to start and run your reuse program.
We were fortunate to learn from some of the top leaders in this field, and we hope to use their knowledge and experience to grow the reuse efforts of durable medical equipment here in California.
